A piece I wrote for the 2024 HxH Big Bang!
“I’ve come up with something for my end of the wager,” said the Gungi Champion, smiling at the King. “If I win, how about I take you on a date? It will be my treat.”
Komugi explains there is a fancy bar and restaurant in downtown East Gorteau. She has never been, but she knows there will be live jazz and candlelit dinner. Perhaps the King might know something or two about music and table manners, and nothing about dates. Perhaps Komugi could learn to like the taste of wine, and ignore how she feels so out of place. Perhaps the Royal Guard might follow His Majesty and survey the scene in lavish disguise. Perhaps hijinks ensue.
Komugi won the game, and the King had no choice but to uphold his end of the bargain. Perhaps he had hoped he would lose. -
