Summary
Sirius spent the last four years building a life for himself and Harry after losing almost everything that mattered to him in one single night. His best friends dead, along with the love of his life, executed on the charges of their murder. Sirius had only just managed to pull his head above water when his life was flipped upside down again.
When his estranged mother brought him the news that Remus was not only still alive, but innocent all along, locked up in Azkaban to be tortured and experimented on, Sirius soon realised he was in an impossible situation.
With a five-year-old to care for, and his mother’s renewed interest in his life, Sirius is now forced to work with the family he once turned his back on as a teenager to get Remus exonerated. However, it soon becomes clear that freeing Remus is only the beginning.
Is the man who comes back from Azkaban the same person that Sirius had once loved? Will it be possible for them to find a way back to each other, or are they irrevocably broken? And will Sirius be able to protect Harry and Remus when his mother comes circling, intent on securing the survival of the Noble and Most Ancient House of Black regardless of the cost?

"Remus Lupin is the winner!"
Remus lifted his eyes to take in the royal family. The queen sat on an ornate chair, looking haughty and cruel with a particular twist to her lips. His gaze drifted to the prince. He was pretty. Remus had expected that. He had the same high cheekbones and arched eyebrows as his mother, with a piercing blue stare. His raven-hair was carefully arranged as it cascaded to his shoulders. He looked too angelic to be involved in the kinds of atrocities his family had committed. But he had been. And Remus would kill all of them for it. But for now, he had to stick to his stupid mission and play nice enough to get picked as their new dog.
He glared up unflinchingly at the man seated in front of him. The announcer cleared his throat and gestured at his face. Remus reached up and peeled off the mask. He spit out the blood in his mouth and made a slight bow.
The announcer made another frantic noise. Balling his fingers into tight fists, he lowered down and dropped on one knee, bowing forward to the man but holding his gaze. "My prince," he muttered through gritted teeth, just loud enough to be heard, "I humbly ask for your favour."

Summary
Nick rested his forehead against Charlie’s, gently bumping their noses together. Charlie moved his hand between their chests and quickly snapped his fingers, his face appearing out of the darkness, cast in a flickering, golden glow. Nick glanced down in surprise to see a tiny flame dancing around in Charlie’s palm.
“Besides Tori, you’re the only other person in this world that I trust with my life. I trust that when we’re together, that you’ll keep me safe. So far, you’ve done nothing to prove me wrong. I wanted to tell you about this, I didn’t because… the last person that found out I had magic… it didn’t end well.”
“Your parents.” He said quietly, watching as the flame wove its way through Charlie’s fingers as they flexed. “They found out about your magic, didn’t they?”
“Sort of,” Charlie admitted, “Mum found out that Tori had magic, and you kind of know what happened after that. But, I remember just being so upset, and everything was coming to a head, so I made her rosary explode. And then we were running.”
