Colin’s steps just immediately stop, wondering why he has to eavesdrop and not soothing his best friend, his legs lose all the strength to keep moving. Why did I know she was in distress? Why? Who said that Penelope? “You are not ugly Pen, you’re beautiful”. He murmured to himself. “You are”. Those words are barely more than a whisper.
His soul crashed to the ground, 6 feet under perhaps… hearing the reply to Penelope unrealistic insecurities. “Does Colin even know that you yearned for him?”
