The crackling sound of flames behind him reminded Wemmbu that he wasn't alone. Teaming up with his rival had made the purple demon realize many things about himself. Having someone to help wasn't always a bad thing, even if they were lifelong enemies.
Ah, that's right. Their alliances were only temporary. He had promised Flame a rematch after they dealt with the LAW army together—a rematch to determine who was the strongest. However, he was now in a very unsuitable condition for this kind of fight.

Yuu has gone through life knowing only shame, the shame of being alive, the shame of finding his best friend beautiful, the shame of turning into a vampire. He doesn't think it could compare to this though.
Mika is just.. hugging him. He's holding onto Yuu with such cruel gentleness, as if they were both human and Yuu wasn't drinking his blood.
Or-- Just Yuu's thoughts about Mika, while dealing with heavy amounts of guilt

Eggchan froze. His heart skipped a beat, and he blinked. In front of him was no longer a void, but the eyes of someone who shouldn't exist here.
He was no longer a faint shadow standing behind Parrot. Wifies stood there, manifested so clearly that Eggchan could see strands of translucent brown hair fluttering in the wind, a wind only the dead can feel.
Eggchan took more time than usual to react; he averted his eyes, trying to cling to the last remnants of silence.
"Man, you've been looking at me for over five seconds." Wifies chuckled, catching him in the act. Usually, Eggchan only stole curious glances for a second or two, but this time, his shock had betrayed him.
