Summary
The New Avengers weren't exactly a well-oiled machine. Not even close.
Sometimes, Alexei dozed off during briefings and completely ignored scouting protocols, blowing their cover before the mission even began. Bucky would then storm the building after him, helpless. Yelena would follow too, throwing a semi-incapacitated enemy right in the way of John, forcing him to awkwardly deflect a bullet with his shield. And that, inevitably, meant Ava would phase right into the trajectory of that ricochet—straight into the heart, or worse, the butt, of the tech keeping her body from disintegrating.
And Bob, well...

He was back in his branch in time, the place where his nexus event had occurred. The last place he had ever been in existence.
