"You're in my way, " Lightwood says.
"Then go around me." Magnus smiles at her.
Ten years of consistently fighting one person to be the #1 tennis player in the world breeds a sort of rivalry that only your one and only rival can understand.
Magnus Bane and Alec Lightwood have turned their rivalry into its own game.
But rivalry is always bred of obsession. And obsession tends to have a heart of its own.

Summary
“Have a stunning day,” Alec tells Jace as the man writes it down. "That's what he said today."
“Stunning,” Jace echoes and bites the pen. “Why did he say stunning? Maybe it’s like a coded message? Maybe he’s actually complimenting you?”
Alec has no idea. But he is sure that pretty soon these adjectives are going to give him a fucking aneurysm.
“Let’s see what he says tomorrow,” Alec sighs.
“Tomorrow is the weekend,” Jace reminds him.
“For fuck’s sake!” Alec groans. “Why can’t we go to work seven days a week?”
Jace looks at him worriedly. “Bro. You need to get laid.”
Alec tells him to fuck off. But he kind of agrees.

Summary
Alec Lightwood, heir to the throne of Idris, has been taught his entire life to stay clear of Brocelind Woods. But he’s convinced that magic is nothing but the stuff of old legends, and he’s reluctant to give up his relationship with Magnus Bane -who is as enigmatic as he is beautiful- to adhere to such warnings.
Magnus Bane grew up under the tutelage of his estranged but powerful father. Magnus knows how Idris feels about the magic that runs through his veins, and when Asmodeus disappears without a trace and leaves Magnus to Idris' mercy in his place, the very last thing Magnus needs is to be faced with answering to their Prince, his lover, who has now become his greatest enemy.
Magnus knows that his father will not stop until he gets Magnus by his side and Magnus has more than enough reasons to go to him, but is he willing to pay the price his father demands?
And is the throne Alec has spent his life coveting, and the respect of his family and his kingdom, enough for him to sacrifice Magnus, who, despite his betrayal, Alec still feels an inexplicable draw towards?
