Summary
“Are you taking on new players?” He doesn’t think before he says it, and if he had, he might not have opened his mouth at all. He knows that Choi Seungcheol is the coach for Kim Mingyu and Lee Seokmin, Minghao’s old high school rivals. Though apparently Seokmin was recently injured pretty seriously, and if Seungcheol was moving on, it would be worth asking.
But Seungcheol smiles sadly and shakes his head again. “Not really, sorry. Mingyu is a handful, even without a partner.”
Minghao snorts. “Tell me about it.”

After 7 years of fighting his way up the men’s singles tennis bracket, Minghao’s career has stalled out at world rank #30. Desperate for anything that can jumpstart his game again, he fires his coach, moves across the city, and starts practicing at a new club. There, he’s noticed by a coach who thinks he might know exactly what he needs.
Enter Mingyu, a career doubles player who finds himself suddenly in need of a new partner. His coach has a solution, but Mingyu and Minghao have a history.
Can they commit to this partnership that at times feels simultaneously too good to be true and not at all what they want? Or will they let old ambitions interrupt a shot at happiness? -

Sana. That name is a sigh. Oh, what Dahyun would give for the privilege to say that name in the way it deserves: breathy, rhapsodic. A sigh, an exhalation in a moment of acute pleasure. Sana. Saaaanaaa.
“Hm?”
Dahyun breaks out of her reverie. The woman who bears the name in question is standing in front of her. And from the way she’s looking at her, Dahyun realizes that she must have been saying her name out loud.
Shiiiit. “Hi,” Dahyun says.
So, here’s the thing about Dahyun, and about Dahyun and Sana: Dahyun is gay to the absolute highest degree, and since the second week of her surgical internship, when she first stumbled into the dermatology clinic, she has had a big fat gay crush on dermatology resident Minatozaki Sana.

Minghao can be reserved, but he’s not at all too shy to drop the name of his alma mater. Mingyu nods appreciatively, and Minghao is warmed by a surge of pride. “Very impressive. So what you’re saying is one day, you’ll own the Snack N’ Supply instead of working it?”
Minghao can’t help the way his nose wrinkles at the thought. “I don’t think this is the kind of place I’d buy, even if I was in the market.”
“Right, you’d rather buy the whole beach?”
Minghao laughs, light and breathy. He feels hypnotized by this guy. “Yeah, exactly. The whole beach. I’ll be the boss of all of you.”
Mingyu nods again, a sparkle in his eyes. “I wouldn’t mind being bossed around by you.”

Following his college graduation, Minghao decides (against his better judgment) to spend his last summer of freedom in the Southern California beach town of Playa Adora, where nobody gets up before 10 a.m. and you're never more than a mile from the water. He expects he'll get some sun, relax, and maybe make a new friend or two.
He does not expect Kim Mingyu. And he certainly doesn't expect to fall in love.

Wine, cuddling, kissing, and sleeping in the same bed even though he has a guest room for this very purpose lead to a morning where things change for them both.
