Summary

Jimin understands, suddenly, why Hoseok wants to see Elysium. At the same time, nerves writhe in his stomach. "Does Hades know about this?"
Hoseok hesitates.
"No. But he never mentioned that I couldn't see other parts of his land. This is my third year here and this...." He gestures to Styx and onward, towards the palace, dejected. "This is all I have seen."
"Forgive me, Your Majesty, but I don't understand. Wouldn't you want your husband to take you?"
Hoseok blinks, as if it takes a second for the word husband to register. When it does, his face frosts over. His hands clench into fists. Each word that pours out of his mouth is hateful and deliberate, stark and disgusted. "That man," he breathes, "is not my husband."
((Or: When Hoseok, the God of Spring, is kidnapped by Hades and forced to live in the Underworld for half of every year, his once bright world becomes dark—especially when Hades is convinced he'll fall in love with him someday.
Instead, Hoseok falls in love with Jimin, Hades' ferryman with severed wings and responsible for delivering souls across the River Styx.))

It’s been two weeks. Hoseok has managed to survive two weeks of Kim Namjoon’s progressively darkening thighs and his cheek craters and his swooshy hair and that stupid laugh he does that makes him sound like a bleating sheep.
Yoongi looks over his shoulder. Stares. Slowly draws his gaze back to Hoseok. “Are we discussing the same man who tried to brush his teeth with sunscreen yesterday?”
“Ew, he did that?”
“Your voice says that’s disgusting but your face says you’re enamored.”
Hoseok presses his palms against his eyes until he sees colored spots. “Make it stop, hyung.”
(Or: Hoseok works at a summer resort and Namjoon is the newest lifeguard. Chaos ensues.)

Namjoon wasn’t thinking when he did it; or rather, he was thinking about Jimin when he did it, the shape of his lips, the curve of his smile. The loneliness in his eyes when he looked away. The firm shape of his body under his fitted black clothes. It was his power, Namjoon couldn’t help himself.
So he wasn’t thinking about the pomegranate, cut in half, its jeweled seeds spilling out onto the stone table. He wasn’t thinking about danger, or tales his mother had told him, or the warnings he’d read in books, when he picked up a seed, absentmindedly, and crushed it between his teeth.
