It crackled through her bones like lightning and they strained under the pressure, moments from snapping.
The air tasted burnt. Electric. The ancient words filled Marcille’s throat, choking, bursting out of her with such strength she wasn't even sure if it was her speaking them.
Never, for even a fraction of a moment, did she regret it. Not even when she felt her mouth fill with blood and her ribs crack, not even when she collapsed face-first onto the concrete.
“Marcille,” Falin gasped, the first word she could manage. Her own voice sounded foreign to her ears. Wrong.

Her fingers lightly brushed the blonde hair as she adjusted the crown, creating an electric sensation that ran through her skin. The heart of the young Touden girl beat strongly as her eyes couldn't help but adore Marcille's beauty.
This story is a slow burn romantic comedy based on Falin being a jealous useless lesbian, Laios giving VERY bad advice on how red dragons court and Marcille beginning to realize her feelings towards her "bestie". All of this mixed with plenty of romance, funny moments, and a hint of drama 🤌

“How precious are your futures?” asks the Sphinx. “How dear to you is the path you wish to take?” She bares her teeth in a cruel smile, and they all take an involuntary step back.
“Wait,” says Laios suddenly. “Look at her teeth!”
“Yes, Laios,” says Izutsumi. “We’ve all noticed the fangs. This really isn’t the time—”
“No,” says Laios, “those back teeth. She has molars- grinders. That means she’s an omnivore. But she can’t leave this circle, and you saw how nothing ventures within miles of this spot. I bet she hasn’t had anything other than…” he swallows, waving a hand vaguely at the pile of ex-adventurers, “...meat… for years .”
“So…what?” asks Izutsumi.
“Remember how good those marshmallows were?” asks Laios. “And that was only after a couple days without much of a varied diet.”
“You want to bet all of our lives,” Chilchuck says slowly, “on making a Sphinx a nice dessert?”
Laios smiles.
