Shadow wakes from a nightmare, re-living what happened that day on the ARK. He tries to leave by teleporting away, but Sonic is accidentally taken with him to the ARK, where Shadow sometimes goes to be alone. Things don't go too well... but luckily Sonic is there to keep him company and help him through his trauma and struggles.

A huge beast with giant claws and fangs, long gangly limbs halfway between that of a man’s and an animal’s. Dazzling reflective eyes stared at the floor as the creature huffed. Little flecks of grey through the monster’s shaggy coat reminded him that this was Jon or at least had been. Once."

Summary
Sonic was lying when he said the full moon no longer affected him. It just had to be... under certain conditions. Unlucky for him, the "certain conditions" were set just right this year, but Sonic doesn't want his lie to be exposed. So, for just this one night, Sonic decides to spend the night under the stars. Although, he finds someone already there, and his curiosity gets the better of him. He just hopes the other can believe him.
