Summary
Finding out Kazuha was badly injured in a pirate battle had Ayato worried. Especially when he wasn’t able to get to a hospital right away. Of course Ayato had taken care of it, but he was still worried.
He couldn’t get the image of Kazuha looking so beaten and broken and desperate out of his head. He was such a sweet boy, it nearly broke Ayato’s heart to see him so defeated.
It was one particularly difficult night when Ayato went to visit the boy, seeing him in near tears and his bandaged up body. There was something different about him, a childlike innocence had taken place where his calm and collected demeanor usually was.
And upon seeing him like that, it was that moment when Ayato decided that he simply couldn't let Kazuha walk away from him and into danger anymore. Not without a guilty conscience.
No, Kazuha was much too little for that.
