This is not a slash or OC insert style fic, rather when I heard Marin pushing Daisy away (on ep 144) it made me wonder if Lukas had done something before to make him so scared.

He had missed John then, but he hadn’t had the space to truly feel it--not with Lillith filling the gnawing void in his head, not with his mind fixed on doing what was best for John--and on stopping Kayne. It had been easier to suppress the emptiness back then, when faced with such an overwhelming purpose.

Summary

He's comfortable with putting his past behind him, until he's reunited with someone who saw him at his worst. And because fate has a sense of humor, he keeps fucking running into him.
