Patrick curses Pete for convincing him to sing for his stupid band, curses himself for ever stepping out from behind the drum set, curses the lights on this stage for being too hot and making him sweat through his shirt. He curses Pete for barely playing his bass, for throwing his body around the stage like that makes up for it. He curses Pete one more time for good measure.

Patrick’s eyes are seaglass blue above him.
The rug against Pete’s bare back is scratchy. It’s made out of some shitty wicker that hurts to walk on and hurts to lay on. Pete told Joe just how shitty this stupid rug was but he insisted that finding it on the street was a steal and it “really tied the room together”. Sometimes he considers setting it on fire in his room.
