Nirei Akihiko, has lived in the same town his entire life, he knows everything and everywhere in town. But what he also knows, is that he does not belong here, not in the way that everybody else does.
His first year at Furin, had been something that would help him find his feet, and hopefully give him that sense of belonging that he had always wanted to have. But as his first year goes on, it seems that something or someone is looking to drive a wedge between Nirei and the life that he had made for himself with his friends.
But as Nirei keeps being pushed away, by those he is closest to, he begins to ask the question:
Why Should I Stay?
Is there something here that’s worth him sticking around? Or would everyone's lives be easier without Nirei here?

The thought didn’t bother him anymore, not like how it did the first time. But the pettiness was gnawing at him. When he opened his mouth he spoke like a bitter, unhappy man.
“Let’s relax, guys. Why don’t we lose this match?” He smiled at his teammates, but it didn’t reach his eyes. “Think of it as charity.”

The Knave has no stake in the former Archon’s choices. Regardless of what happens, the outcome, whether it may be good or ill, will not affect her. But still… to erase a life, to destroy the very essence of a person and let another one usurp their place… It feels damning, sacrilegious even. A mockery to all that was sacrificed.
So she asks, one last time, even though she knows the answer. One final attempt, to save a soul beyond saving.
The former Archon stares back at her with eyes that have long since given up on hope.
