Finding something — or someone — else to blame has become second nature to Charlie at this point, and he’s very proud of it, thank you very much. Society, Harry Greene, his secondary school teachers who didn’t care about bullying as long as he got good marks, his university lecturers with their classist view of literature, the BBC, gender roles, Freud, his mother, the U.S., London public transport on rainy days (every day), The Sun, the royal family and, best of all, Nick’s heterosexuality.
But no matter how much he thinks about it, he can't quite figure out why Donald Trump in the fucking White House or the Tories in Parliament would want to conspire against him — aside from homophobia, obviously.
So, when it comes down to it, the only person Charlie can blame for his current situation is himself, his stupidity, and nothing else.
