    Vegas has Bietti Crystalline Dystrophy, a rare genetic disorder that's causing him to lose his vision. He was told it's transmittable, so he has sequestered himself from society, living in a mansion under his uncle's thumb with a robot, Venice, to keep him company.
    As Macau is about to leave for college, his parting gift to Vegas will be a state of the art android.

    Pete is a graphic designer tired of losing out in job interviews. His artistic skills are treated as obsolete in the age of generative AI, and he's sick of it. Drowning in his grandmother's medical debt, Pete is swayed during a meeting with his best friend Porsche, who, along with his insanely rich boyfriend, ask Pete to do something insane and unthinkable: pretend to be an android for three months while they make emergency repairs to the real thing.

    LOOSELY inspired by the K-Drama I am Not a Robot, but VegasPete coded.

    “Why are you even here?” Macau asks.

    Pete swallows; he doesn’t have a straight answer to that question. He doesn’t even know himself. How can he say that, when Vegas fucked him in the safehouse, he carved out his heart, and now it belongs to him, that he’s just a loyal lap dog, following his owner? He’s like the dog at the station in Shibuya, the dog at the graveyard in Edinburgh, waiting and waiting for his master to return.

    “Because he needed somebody,” is how Pete manages to sum it up. But really, he needs Vegas as much as Vegas needs him, maybe even more so.

    After Vegas is shot, Pete, Vegas, and Macau navigate what comes after...
