Summary
Shuri ended up getting Peter's usual, so he switched up his order to the number seven. This ended up being a mistake, as it had tomatoes in it and Peter had a mild allergy. Then again, when had anything in Peter’s life ever changed for the better?
Shuri chewed methodically, like she was only eating because it was a childhood habit. Her eyes were missing their mischievous light, leaving only dull pools of bitter coffee. “It was my fault he died.”
Peter didn't try protesting. Not because he believed this was true, but because he knew that no amount of words would convince Shuri otherwise. He’d lived with guilt before, too. I should have gotten the gauntlet off of Thanos, I should have used it so Tony didn’t have to, I should have told him I wanted him to be my dad. He knew. He simply set down his death sandwich and listened.
In other words, after a year of silence, Shuri talks to Peter again. Her brother is dead.
