“Don’t tease me.” Kaveh finally spoke, his voice soft but his words firm. He leveled his gaze at Alhaitham, tears on his waterline. He furiously blinked them back. “I don’t deserve such cruelty.”
“I would hope you’d know me better, that I wouldn’t cross such a line with you.”
Kaveh’s features flickered for a moment, something indecipherable passing over his beautiful face before he asked in almost a whisper, “Are there lines you would cross?”
