Stiles isn't still one hundred percent sure this more relaxed, willing-to-draw-on-his-face Derek is necessarily better, but Scott seems to think so and Stiles wonders if maybe he's just adjusting. He was so used to having a healthy fear boner where Derek was concerned, that just having the regular kind is confusing the hell out of him.

Post-3a. Jackson comes back, and an unlikely friendship stems between him and Stiles. Derek doesn't seem to react very well to Stiles' closeness with Lydia - or anyone else for that matter.

Summary
After a very vicious fallout with Derek, Stiles ends up venturing out of the country, exploring new places, meeting some very interesting people and accidentally becoming an extremely successful and well-known model.
So this of course makes going back to Beacon Hills, the home of werewolves and humans he hasn't talked to in years, absolutely terrifying. Having Jackson by his side wasn't helping either.
