Haru can't sleep. He lays in bed tossing and turning for what feels like hours, nearly in tears from how bone tired he is without any hopes of getting actual rest. So logically, he makes his way to Wumuti's room. Well, it's just as much Rui's room as it is Wumuti's. Haru usually does this, clambering into Wumuti's bed in the middle of the night like a child running from a nightmare. It's only a bit embarrassing now that he knows Wumuti doesn't mind. She pulls him close every time, strong arms wrapped around his shoulders and he's out like a light.
Something's different tonight. Wumuti's laid out on the mattress, the exposed bit of her chest from where her sleep shirt has ridden up rising and falling slowly, tiny noises of exhale coming from her nose, and the longer Haru stands there at the foot of her bed, watching her and observing how peaceful and calm she is, the more he wants to take that calm and wreck it.
