He couldn’t even be mad about it, though.
He was gone a lot. And when he was back, he wasn’t always the greatest to be around. Especially during those first few weeks. He didn’t wanna go out, he wasn’t particularly social, he barely wanted to do anything that involved staying in, really.
They probably valued that time when he was gone, and he couldn’t blame them.
He wondered when they’d realize they were better off without him. They had more memories together, they got along better, they were closer. Hitoshi was like a third wheel in his own relationship. Someone they let hang around them, for what? Why?

“Are you excited to be crowned?” To be fair, it was ‘royal shit’, but he was running out of conversation. He didn’t know what things princes liked to talk about.
Katsuki barked out a laugh. “I’m going to be the best king this fuckin’ kingdom has ever seen.” Hitoshi didn’t point out that wasn’t an answer to his question. “I’m going to show up every king and queen who came before me.”
Now, Hitoshi looked him over. It was weird, he thought, for a moment. How they could be.. so similar, but so different. How they could share the same goals, while Hitoshi knew they had nothing in common. So similar yet, not at all. “I’m sure you will,” He agreed.

“He couldn’t have gone far, I mean—“ He didn’t get to finish his sentence, before he got hit in the back of the head with a snowball. Hitoshi snapped his head around, and he didn’t even have to look for that head of blonde locks. Katsuki was leaning against the board stand, smirking at them.
“Took you guys long enough,” he commented when Hitoshi and Eijirou made their way over to him. “Oi, shitty-hair, I thought you were supposed to be a professional?”
“I was keeping pace with Hitoshi,”
“I’m going to shove snow down your jacket.”
“Whatever,” He disregarded Hitoshi’s comment, “I told you two I would be the best. I’m the best at everything.” He grinned wildly, and neither of the other two could even argue with that. It was hard to find something Katsuki couldn’t do.

“oh, my god. i thought that you knew how to cook!” taylor whisper-yelled to eddie, and it was clear neither of them knew he had even woken up yet.
