She steps down the stairs towards the sidewalk. Something seems to turn in her mind for a moment. A serious look slowly creeps across her face as she looks back up at Hao. “And Hao?” He turns back to her from the doorway. “If someone you don’t know is at the door, don’t let them in.”
When Hao moves to a tiny coastal town to fill a librarian posting at a small university, he can't help but find much of the town and its residents peculiar. Even more unusual is the literature professor at the university, with the strangely colored eyes and odd manner of speaking.
