His fluffy hair at the front, clumped pieces at the back where he’d slid his fingers in a mere few minutes before. His pretty green eyes that look hazel or even brown in this light, the dark circles he gets when he drinks framing them like intricate paintings. A satisfied, bloody smile.
Mike isn’t satisfied. He swallows thickly, choking down the words 'don’t you want more?'

Summary
Eddie tilts his head, his hand sliding off Buck’s knee as he leans back. Buck misses the warmth immediately. “Would that help you—having rules?”
Buck can only nod in response, equally confused and intrigued by the sudden gleam in Eddie’s eyes.
Eddie reaches for his beer bottle and brings it to his mouth, tapping the rim against his lower lip. “So if I came up with some dating rules for you to follow, you’d be all right with that?”Buck decides to start dating again, and Eddie offers to give him some rules to follow. That's just the kind of great best friend he is. It's a completely platonic arrangement, and Eddie definitely doesn't have any ulterior motives.

Eddie stared, his eyes shifting in real time. He brought a hand up to touch his own lips and chin, tugging at the corners like he couldn’t stay still. “You wanna repeat that?”
Buck held the stare, biting his lips in thought. He couldn’t help but to glance down at Eddie’s. “Yeah,” he said after a while, his voice deeper. “You lost me, Eddie. And it was a choice you made.”
Something similar to a chuckle came out of Eddie’s throat, but they hadn’t been apart long enough for Buck to think he had found something funny. No, Eddie was angry. “There isn’t an inch of you that doesn’t belong to me.”
OR: divorced buddie meets again after five years - or so. (includes rage sex, and an eddie with hidden intentions).

“I mean,” Eddie backtracks hastily, “that I probably don’t—uh, that I don’t want a hook up. Just the single, uh, kiss. For research.”
“Right,” Buck nods. “For research.”
They turn back to the TV, sipping beers and spooning dessert, room quiet save for the telenovela playing. Buck, gun to his head, could not tell you who or what is on the screen right now. The brave, strong part of his brain has surrendered shamefully, white flag hoisted while the rest of his brain—stupid, stupid—hosts a skillfully imagined supercut of his best friend kissing men. It’s surprisingly new subject matter for him. What’s unsurprising is his distaste for every conjured scenario, discarding each indistinguishable stranger until the reel buffers on something more… familiar.
“Well—”
Eddie waits a patient minute for Buck to continue before asking, “Well, what?”
“I just mean—if it’s just a kiss, right.” Buck pauses. “You could, uh. You could try it with me.”
or, buck thinks kissing men and women feels pretty much the same. eddie’s not buying it. sometimes settling a bet requires kissing your best friend, a lot, for research
