    Still, he’s felt like absolute shit for weeks, and the idea of sitting in his hotel room, where he would probably masturbate, cry, and have another night of fitful sleep, did not make him feel any better. Getting to be skin to skin with Ilya Rozanov did. And surely Rozanov wouldn’t be demanding Shane make a nest in his damn bed if he didn’t fully intend on actually kissing him in it and keeping him there until morning, right?

    Maybe that would be enough to pick Shane up out of this drop, keep it from happening again.

    After not sending the "we didn't kiss" text, Shane's omega hormones go into distress mode. Despite trying to hide his symptoms and play through the misery, when Ilya Rozanov finds out what's going on, the alpha Shane's body wants most is determined to fix it.

    Ilya Rozanov was a showy alpha, the type that glowed under the spotlight, specially in the rink. He spoke very outwardly, even if his english left him hanging sometimes, and got along well with the other alphas in his team. 

    The picture was quite different with his opponents. They didn’t like one bit the shenanigans he got up to in the middle of games, some considering him one of the biggest assholes in the MLH, specially because he didn’t cower from using his liquor scent to overwhelm his opponents.

    Now, active hockey players that were omegas? Counting with Shane there were a total of one. Reading about the history of the MLH in the 90s he was aware there were at least three fully out omegas that partook in official games in the last 20 years, but none of them were first line players and quietly drifted into obscurity after the end of their short-lived careers. That made Hollander’s position specially tricky, since he wasn’t a fully out omega.

    “Why are you here?” Ilya asked, very quietly.
    It still felt like a slap.
    Shane must have let out a sound of some sort, because Ilya turned to look at him, finally.
    “Did not mean it like that,” Ilya said. “Just… surprised.”
    Shane shifted awkwardly from one foot to the next, as if he was suddenly coming to the realization that he had no right to be here at all. “I got a call from the hospital,” he explained. “They told me I’m your emergency contact.”
    “Sorry,” Ilya said, in such a quiet voice it was almost impossible to hear him. “I forgot to change it.”
    Shane could only frown. That did not make him any less confused. “I guess I just… I don’t understand why you put me down as your emergency contact in the first place. It’s not like we…”
    Ilya took a couple of deep breaths. It looked like they were painful. His eyes slid away from Shane, like he couldn’t bear to look at him. “Did not have anyone else,” he admitted, and now his voice was the smallest Shane had ever heard it, like Ilya was trying to disappear as the words left him. “I’m sorry.”

    ”I will be mate.” Even David’s eyes almost bulge out of his head at Ilya’s words. Yuna’s shell-shocked, and Shane thinks he’s playing some kind of sick joke.

    “Are you serious, son?” David asks softly. Ilya looks extremely uncomfortable that David just called him that, but he shakes his head yes.

    “I am serious. I will be mate.”
