Summary
Ace figured out a way a natural way to deal with his narcolepsy – getting off. The issue is that the one that turns his on the most isn’t around as often as Ace would like. So, he started to offer to do Smoker’s laundry when he leaves. Off gone, Ace makes a makeshift nest with it and jerks off, surrounded by Smoker’s smell.
But one day, Smoker forgets something and goes back home to the sight of his life!

Summary
After the events of the Summit War, Smoker realizes that it’s the first Valentine’s Day since he and Ace got together. He decides to take Ace, who survived and has been hidden away on Sphinx, out on a date for the evening and get back to him for the butter incident.
(This fits nicely after Chapter 15 of Rise from the Ashes but can technically be read alone. The Butter Incident is from Turning Ordinary Meals into Extraordinary Feasts. It's just really self-indulgent and I wanted them to go on a proper date and then improper afterwards!)

Introspective analyses of Taiju as a character but also possible impacts of constantly rewriting timelines. This was written in 2024 for a zine (Ode to the Future) and I like it so I wanted to share it with you all!

“How long will that last? A few months? A year?” Ace looks at him. “If they do catch you with me on your ship, they’ll execute you. Tashigi, all your men.”
Smoker does nothing to keep the want out of his kiss. Ace gives in to it, making small noises that seem loud in the quiet room, against Smoker’s lips. His skin is hot to the touch, almost too hot. Smoker chases it, running his hands over every inch, lets his hands burn.
