He blinked. The click-snap-click-snap of her blaster rang loudly over the cargo bay. “We’ve talked,” he hedged. Even he could hear the hesitance in his voice.
A red heat rustled through the Force. He heard her take a breath, the way she did when she was suppressing a scoff. “Kanan, a couple words in the hallway doesn’t count. It’s been months since Malachor–”
“So what,” he interrupted, shoulders rising. “I should get over it by now? Has my grace period run out? I’m not wearing this mask for aesthetics, Sabine.”
(Or, during Steps into Shadow Sabine gives Kanan a much needed wake up call.)

Ezra Bridger knew his parents. He grew up on the streets of Capital City, among Empire and the lothcats, and for fifteen years, the Force has been a thing without a name. At least, not a name Kanan Jarrus knows.
A.K.A. Kanan tries to be a good master. But Ezra is not exactly a pedigree padawan.
