Summary
Zoro wasn't one for making friends or hanging out. Other students may waste their time on useless things like 'studying' or 'forming meaningful relationships', but other students just didn't have the determination that he does. Zoro had a goal, One goal, to be the strongest kendo fighter in the world. And he was going to get there some day, if one goofy, charming, unfortunately lovable idiot would stop distracting him that is.
---The high school-sports-anime au that NO ONE asked for lol. Will Luffy be able to win Zoro's friendship? Will that friendship bloom into something more? Will Zoro finally get that stick out of his ass? Probably, but I'll be damned if there won't be a handful of shenanigans before we get there ;~)c

Her basket's on the table, palms on either side of it. The house dark. Dim.
The door hasn’t closed behind her. Zelda turns her head, peering through windswept hair. Light pours in behind him: his silhouette standing there on the threshold of his own home like a vampire awaiting an invitation. She almost laughs at the sight. The man who cut the Devil to pieces is scared to follow after a woman with a chip on her shoulder? How far they’ve both fallen.
“It’s your house,” she points out.
Permission to enter. He does even though it’s not hers to give. It’s only a few steps, of course. Can’t break the rule. Five feet. Always five feet apart. The door closes.
She wants to break something. An old habit’s under heavy consideration.

I was the sun and the wind and the water and the dirt and I was in a prison and I was the prison. I feel like I’m blindfolded, now, without that sense of the world, but also everything is so bright and loud and close and I hardly know how I’m managing to speak to you when my skin is feeling wind for the first time in a century. It’s…” she trails off, her words failing her, which is infuriating because she’s a scholar, she’s good at words. “It’s a lot,” she finishes awkwardly, for lack of anything better to say.
Or: Learning to be a person again, after the end.

When he closes his eyes, he sees a portrait. The one of Laios, sat on his throne, dressed in his finery. Sometimes it feels like it’s painted inside his eyelids or framed somewhere on the back of his skull. It’s an image Kabru has always liked, ever since the day it got hung up. The king’s likeness captured near perfectly, with all his nervous edges buffed out. He looks like he belongs there.

Months have passed since the release of Sumeru’s archon and excitement has finally died down for Paimon and Lumine. After a chance run-in at Pardis Dhyai, Lumine finds herself in the presence of a certain Amurta scholar much more often. And after days together in the field, Tighnari finds himself exploring his feelings for a certain hero of Sumeru much more than he ever allowed.
