Summary
Ten years after the war, Draco Malfoy has resigned himself to a quiet life in Muggle London. His Father is in Azakaban and his Mother is pretending the war never happened. He’s found friendship in unlikely places, with Harry Potter and the rest of the golden trio. Problem is, he’s been in unrequited infatuation with Hermione Granger for fifteen years, and there’s no end to his obsession in sight. Working with her at the ministry is becoming increasingly difficult, and Draco only finds solace within the pages of his diary. Except the diary starts to write back, and as he and Hermione’s friendship grows, he’s torn between the woman he’s always wanted and the one in the pages.

After her divorce, Hermione decides to get out of town to recover from the pain of her lost relationship and the miscarriage she suffered a year previously. She arrives in the Cotswolds depressed and aimless but compiles a list of things to do that she hopes will help her get back on her feet. In the midst of her journey to find healing she keeps running into Draco Malfoy, who is nothing like she remembered him. He invites her into his world, and Hermione finds exactly what she was looking for - in the place she least expected it.

Hermione held out her hand as his eyes met hers. Then he did something Hermione would never forget.
Malfoy grabbed her hand and placed the vials in her palm.
Green sparks behind her eyes again, her magic sung for a solid ten seconds before he released her hand.
Malfoy was staring at her, in his eyes, the clearest she had ever seen them, was a sense of awe.
Had he felt that as well?
