Summary
Lieto fine garantito.

Summary

Now their vaults, reputations, and very sanity are tangled together. Between sharp-edged banter, unwanted sparks of desire, and rings that refuse to come off, Hermione and Draco are forced into proximity neither of them wants...

Summary
It's been five years since the Second Wizarding War where Voldemort was defeated. The wizarding population has been in decline for years, with fewer births of magical children. Because of this, the Ministry of Magic decides to enact a controversial law that will affect unmarried witches and wizards by using ancient magic to create matches that will produce strong magical children.
The law states that any unmarried witch or wizard between the ages of 20 and 35 will receive their matches via owl and have only a month to agree to the pairing or they'll be forced to give up their wand. While couples are matched based on magical compatibility and magical ability, it doesn't take into account the feelings of those affected. And this is how, against all odds, Hermione Granger and Draco Malfoy end up being matched.
While Hermione is trying to think any and all ways to get out of this arrangement, Draco sees this as his way to earn her forgiveness and make amends while secretly hoping she'll fall in love with him. While the law allows for appeals, they rarely get approved and with a time limit to comply on producing an heir, Hermione and Draco have to find a way to at least be friends. -

Summary
Some say there’s not much to life at all. You’re born, you live, and you die. But what about everything in-between? Life isn’t that simple, not in their eyes at least.
Hermione felt life had dealt her the worst of blows. Having been through a war as a Hogwarts student, becoming a healer at St. Mungo’s hospital after, then losing the man she loved. She had become a shell of who she used to be. The bright, forgiving and clever 'golden girl' had gone, replaced by a cold and empty woman pondering if it was worth living at all. All she felt was hate and heartbreak, going about life unchecked and uncaring as she hunted death eaters and traitors alike.
Draco is trying to turn his life around, but the wizarding community just couldn't understand he had changed. No longer a 'death eater', he now worked as an auror after losing his wife. Harry Potter has accepted him and for both their family's sakes they display a level of civility, but there are always those dragging Draco back into his past and he hated it. Would an unsolved case they were working on turn out to be the end for Draco? Or would it change the course of everything the future held for him...

Summary
He and Granger had abided by their clearly established roles for the last 7 years, and now suddenly she had not only changed the rules but upended the metaphorical game board. Draco had enough on his mind, enough to deal with, without adding a potentially volatile Granger into the mix.
She had been despondent, yelled at him, backed down from their typical tête-à-tête, apologised to him, accused him of being nice, laughed like she was unhinged, thanked him, smiled at him, touched him, then collapsed inward and fled.
She was a living, breathing tornado. He didn't know if he was supposed to be offended, grateful, concerned, or intrigued by the whole situation, but he was pretty sure that he was all of those things and some others he couldn't quite put a finger on yet. It was all dizzying and incredibly distracting.
Or... The war is over. Hermione and Draco both find themselves back at Hogwarts for eighth year — alone in a castle full of people, haunted by the past and present — their wounds still unhealed. For now.
