Summary
As shocking as it may sound, going to the movies is one of Lucifer’s favorite dates, and it is so for two simple reasons: 1. it’s a really good and easy spontaneous date to have, since there is always at least one movie playing at any nearby movie theater (and if the movie sucks… well, let’s just say that it’s really good that it’s dark in there) and 2. his husband always spoils him rotten during his designated dates… and that was one of them – from letting Lucifer pick the movie no matter how much his face may imply that he (sometimes) thinks Lucifer’s pick sucks, to buying Lucifer every single overpriced sweet snack the theater offers, and to them sharing a drink and chatting and laughing as they wait for the movie to start.
OR
Lucifer and Marcus enjoy a spontaneous date at the movies where they end up watching an eerily familiar romcom.

When he had received the text, he had swiped away the notification as fast as possible because he just couldn’t allow himself to think about it. His little… tryst had been a bad habit he’s indulged himself in whenever his boyfriend hadn’t been around in the past few months, which was not the case that week.
But things were different now and the prospect of a bed to sleep in for the night, some guilt-free great sex and maybe even that drink he so badly craved all wrapped up in one neat, handsome, clever, funny package certainly sounded like a good one. And just like that, it was decided. He now had someone to call.

A deep breath and then she felt the cold water wash over her face, a desperate urge to breathe overcoming her like it never had before the one time she was not supposed to breathe. Still, she held her breath, the slight sting of the freezing, toxic river water making it so easy to ignore her body's desperate cries for air and the chill going down her spine and creeping its way into her bones.
A moment passed like that, a million more moments of burning lungs and uneasiness following it. Her one source of comfort in those never-ending, never-relenting, achingly slow moments, the one anchor that kept her from being pulled away into the dark waters beneath her never to be seen again being her father's steady, gentle hold.

"I know you're looking at me." Marcus said between pants, his voice airy- so much so that Lucifer would've missed it had the room not been completely silent.
"Can you blame me?" Lucifer asked, trailing just the tips of his fingers along his husband's jaw. Marcus hummed pleased and smiled under Lucifer's touch, reaction which made Lucifer smile even brighter than before. He then started trailing soft lines along Marcus’ neck, his chest, his stomach and his sides, finishing up on his arms and he rested his hand on his husband’ hip afterwards.
“I love you so, so, so much…” he said softly, his words almost blending into each other as he left one loving kiss in the crook of Marcus' neck.

“You’ll be done quickly, right, darling?” he asked Marcus, his voice like velvet and it took a couple of seconds for the words to register in Marcus’ head, but then he shook his head, almost as if he just snapped out of a trance, and he said:
“Yeah... just need a few more minutes.” he finished, his words more of a whisper than anything else, and then he turned to his abandoned file, but his thoughts kept drifting back to Lucifer and to what they will do once he’s done with that damned file and Lucifer certainly didn’t make his situation any easier by watching his every move, not much unlike a like a viper waiting to strike.
OR Marcus is behind on his work so he has to make some sacrifices to meet his deadline, all while Lucifer watches as he slowly sips from a drink and wishes that Marcus could be doing him instead.
