Summary
Dr. Kiramman steers her through the chaos and plants her in a chair. Does something to her arm that hurts like fuck, then drapes her in bags of ice and wraps her in a sling. Blinds her with a pen light—“Called it,” she mumbles when he confirms she’s concussed—and presses two pills and a warm mug into her hand. It smells herbaceous. Familiar.
“I brought the good stuff from home,” Dr. Kiramman confesses, and it takes her a moment to understand he means tea. “Extra honey for you. I know you haven’t acquired the taste.”
He’s right in that she only actually drank it once, the first time it was offered—the afternoon they spoke to the Council, several lifetimes ago. But she tasted it just this morning in Caitlyn’s mouth, grassy and sweet. So she pops the pills and takes a sip. Tries not to think about whether that terrified kiss over breakfast was their last. “I want to see her.”
After the war, Vi and Cait recover, and rebuild.

A sharp slap to her broad shoulder stopped her mid-sentence.
“It’s not that!” Caitlyn hissed, her voice defensive and flustered. Vi couldn’t see her wife’s face in the dark, but she was certain Caitlyn was blushing furiously.
“Then what is it, Cupcake?” Vi asked softly, concern replacing her teasing tone as she fully sat up.
Caitlyn’s frown deepened, her voice tinged with frustration.
“I really want Ionian spicy noodles and… peanut butter.”

Caitlyn wakes Vi in the middle of the night to satisfy her latest bizarre pregnancy craving. The following day, while picking up an ingredient for that specific craving, a very hormonal and fiercely protective Caitlyn finds herself staking her claim on Vi at the grocery store when a stranger tries to flirt with her wife.
