There is still something Peter isn’t saying.
“Peter,” Roger’s tone grows more serious. If there was one thing Peter taught him since getting out of his relationship, it was that if you need to say something, then say it. Letting it weigh on your shoulders would only make everything worse. “I-I believe you, but, um, is there anything else? I get the feeling you’re still not telling me everything.” He laces his fingers together, hoping it was enough to subdue the anxiety coiling in his stomach.
”Do you have feelings for me?”
Roger blinks hard. The question is abrupt and the world stops spinning on its axis for what feels like decades. He’s forced to swallow the question.
