Summary
“I could’ve,” Dream admits. “So many times.”
Sapnap stays quiet a moment, and while Dream sniffles, the little girl in his lap turns, taps against his face like the tears are common. Dream kisses at her hand, promises her he is okay. He acts like nothing is wrong. Like Sapnap isn’t crying in front of him too, when he should be scolding Dream.
“Why didn’t you?” Sapnap asks as he swipes the back of his hand over his nose. “I mean, not even George?”
The mention of their other friend brings Dream into a new reality. Soft, brown, messy hair on his screen, a grin that laughs and cheeks that turn rosy any time Dream teases him. A light squeal into his headset at the late hours of the night, once Dream is alone in his tranquility. George, the rough paper that sands Dream down. Warm, fluffy bread. Fuck, Dream thinks.
Dream decides to tell his friends about his daughter right before they move in.

Summary
“This is usually the part where fireworks go off ahead of us and I say that they’re beautiful— which you’d agree to— but you’re actually looking at me the entire time,” George says, breaking the comfortable quiet, tone light. “And you’d be talking about me, not the fireworks.”
This may just be one of those regrets but; to hell with it, Dream thinks.
“You want me to say you’re beautiful?”
George faces him with a shy smile; one that makes his stomach flip and twist and all the shit that comes with having a crush on a gorgeous boy named George. “S’pose it wouldn’t hurt, would it?”
In which, despite his huge fear of heights, Dream is forced onto a Ferris Wheel because Sapnap reckons that it would be a fantastic opportunity for him to make a solid move on a (seemingly) unsuspecting George.

Summary
“Nearly one,” George replies, eyes briefly drifting to his open curtains, millions of stars shining down on his street, stars that are yet to make their appearance in Florida, “Is it sunny where you are?”
“It was earlier, but it’s setting now,” Dream explains, “Wanna see?”

Summary
It only takes a split second for George’s hand to slip into his, soft and cool, fingers sliding up his palm to slot between his own. Dream smiles dazedly, fully aware of the fact that this kind of hand holding isn’t something that people who refer to themselves as just best friends do, but right now he’s tired, and George needs this, so he doesn’t spend too long pondering over that thought.
“Talk to me,” George murmurs, squeezing his hand, “please?”
