"..You just fall into its arms because your belief undoes your disbelief" Anne Sexton

Aonung used to make fun of her clear shell; tapping the glass in a way of both belittling her and making his disgust at her presence known. However, when it's gone and she no longer reacts the way she used to, he can't help but continue the tradition.

title from song: The Gate by Caroline Polachek

O’txoa te Ao'wahi Malu'ite, raised by her eldest brother, has no firm position in her clan other than as a training rolyu. That is, until her quiet curiosity for the newly arrived forest people draws her into the current of Neteyam Sully. O’txoa finds herself captivated by the world beyond the waves, and in listening, she becomes an outlet for a certain warrior boy's deep-rooted homesickness.

My excuse to both throw my OCs at you and write about our mighty warrior.

    Bookmarker's Notes

One of those rare, special fanfictions that feel like published novels.
Absolutely immersive reading with rich descriptions and characters written with depth and complexity.
    Beautiful writing style.
    Criminally underrated so far.
    Must read.

“I don’t get it,” Lo’ak muttered, tossing a loose fiber aside. “He never talks about Earth.”

Neteyam paused. Just for a moment.

“He talks about it,” he said, though there was less certainty in his voice than usual.

“Yeah,” Lo’ak said, pushing a loose fiber through the weave with unnecessary force, “but not really. Not like he talks about here. Or about Toruk. Or about us.”

Somewhere between bad decisions, oversized clothes, and a trunk full of memories, Jake Sully’s past comes spilling out—and with it, the chance for his sons to understand him a little better.

    Bookmarker's Notes

Slice of life, great descriptions and character dynamics, lovely father-sons bonding moment.
Sweet and cosy (quite rare in this fandom).
    Must read.
