This is a lot more fun that I was expecting. Rey and Ben meet at speed dating, and she utterly fascinates him—banter and hotness ensues. They are so into each other it makes my teeth ache, but then Rey gets scared and bolts—Ben writes her a love letter, which she indeed loves. Bonus points for the letter’s font being Patterson, supposedly designed after Adam Driver’s handwriting.

Summary
Darcy has imagined her soulmates a million times. Her plan for their first meeting is to punch them in the face with all her might. Her first soulmark-- “Well, at least she’s got a nice rack”-- has been plaguing her since she was born, fueling every self-conscious fear she had ever had. The second, which had only appeared a few years back, is equally as insulting. At least at that point she was a little too focused on the aliens streaming from the sky to really concern herself about whatever jerk she was destined to connect with. Who needs soulmates anyway?
She just didn’t expect “You've got to be kidding me” to be such a hunk.

Written in 2014, this Wintershieldshock is over 20,000 magnificent words: the OT3 are soulmates, but B&S are reluctant to let anyone in when they have loved each other so long; Darcy befriends them, like she does everyone in the Tower, and everyone comes to love her—especially B&S. When a robot attack on NYC injures her, the boys step up to proclaim their readiness to love her. Bonus points for all the Avengers being snuggly, even Nat, and D having no fear when B drops into Winter Soldier mode.

“Kids these days. You go on vacay but you don’t write, you don’t call,” she mock sighs. “At least bring me a souvenir!” she yells over the klaxons as they file out.
She gets the odd chuckle and some eyerolls and she thinks that’s the end of it.
A week later in the lab, she finds a small brown paper bag on her desk.

This Wintershock from 2017 is legit perfect: a seemingly healed Buck who goes on Avengers missions and brings Darcy “souvenirs,” all while hanging out together, getting to know each other, and ultimately realizing how much they like each other when Darcy gives Bucky a superfine welcome home. Bonus points for Bucky fist-bumping Darcy and “blowing it up” like she taught him to.
