Sliding a hand up the omega’s chest, he squeezed his throat. He could feel the omega’s pulse jump under his palm.

Vegas grinned maniacally, pulling back to relish the fear in the omega’s eyes.
Instead of fear, his eyes reflected determination.

When Vegas entered their bedroom this time, he was almost surprised, but managed to stop himself from being completely shocked, when his eyes were immediately drawn to Pete in the corner of their room where he had made Vegas hang up a punching bag for him. Pete was wearing a cropped sleeveless shirt that fell mere centimeters below his nipples, boxing gloves, and a headband to hold back his hair. Nothing else.

After Vegas wakes up Pete is having constant, agonizing dreams about him not making it and spends most of his nights barely sleeping. Vegas knows there's something wrong with him. He assumes it's his fault, so he tries to be the best boyfriend ever, which only makes Pete even more scared of losing him.
