"“Lord Voldemort is dead.” Dumbledore stated simply. He took a sip of his own tea and allowed them all to digest what he had said. McGonagall seemed to remember her tea and took too large a gulp.
When James opened his mouth again, Dumbledore spoke up once more. “I am sure that you have many questions. For now I shall only say this: I received information that your lives were in immediate danger. With this, I was also informed of Voldemort’s location. He was not prepared for my arrival, he was actually in the middle of punishing one of his followers when I arrived. The battle was not short, and when it was over I felt I had aged a decade. Voldemort died by my wand. Today, the Death Eaters have been in shambles. They are being arrested to the best of the Ministry’s ability."
The Potters chose Sirius as their secret-keeper and refused his suggestion otherwise. This is what happened in 1981 as a result of that decision.

Summary
After Marietta reveals Dumbledore's Army, Fudge and Umbridge try to figure out who to blame for it all - Harry Potter or Albus Dumbledore. So McGonaggal suggests watching some of Harry's most important memories to see for themselves, only she hopes it would reveal the truth about Voldemort before anyone gets in trouble.
Naturally, the entire school watches right along with them, and Madam Bones is invited to attend as well in the hopes of leaving things neutral.

They watch the Harry Potter books... but not everything - it's a fun project I decided to start and it's not going to be too long. Also, it won't move past the fifth book, since... they haven't been through any more adventures yet. Hope you like it :)
(PS - I was obviously wrong, this is going to be super long, for some reason.)
(Another PS - this might show a couple of scenes from after the fifth book if I decide to add a bonus chapter. We'll see.)
