“And in other big news today, it has been confirmed that Max Verstappen is in the Paddock today, and that he has been here all morning. However, what has come as a surprise to almost everyone, he has not been spotted in the Red Bull garage, but in the Ferrari one instead.”
OR
Max had retired from F1 following the completion of his mega contract with Red Bull in 2028, and has never been seen back in the Paddock ever since. Until he shows up in Austin to watch Charles try to match his record of ten wins in a row.

“Non, cheri. That is not what I mean.” Charles had replied. His eyes had looked so sincere, so earnest. “There are things about me that you do not know.”
Max’s breath had caught in his lungs. ‘Things like what?’
The question must have been clear as day on Max’s face because Charles inhaled deeply. His face contorted into a grimace. He exhaled slowly. Then breathed out the words, “Max, I am a vampire.”
And Max had laughed, of course he had, a hollow and mirthless thing. Why had he laughed?

Summary
It all starts, as most things do, with a dream. Only this wasn’t a dream of aspirations for the future, of things that Max wanted to accomplish in his life before he felt too old to do them. No, this was a dream, in the middle of the night, of a warm body pressing his back firmly against the wall behind him, spit slick lips trailing down his throat and biting his skin just enough to leave him panting and begging for more. Always more, never enough. It was a dream that left Max breathless and feeling just a little out of control when he woke the next morning, head filled with hazy images of a curling smile and flashes of green eyes. And the problem is that it doesn’t just happen once. Max could handle his subconscious betraying him once. No, it happens over and over, night after night, until Max can hardly look at Charles from across the Paddock without his cheeks flushing with heat and colour.

After rumours have spread like wildfire, Max’s image is worse off than ever. Red Bull take drastic action to get it back on track.

Arthur had been back for about six months. Merlin still finds it hard to believe that it was already half a year ago that the man had crawled out of the lake, soaking wet and disoriented and confused. It had been… a challenge at first, to say the least. Arthur had struggled to come to terms with his new reality, making his behaviour and his moods erratic. When he became overwhelmed, he would lash out. And Merlin, being the only person in the world he knew, took the brunt of it. He did so willingly. If it meant having Arthur back, if it meant he was no longer alone, he was willing to do anything.

Summary
"Hi, Charles." Max greets softly, his voice laced with a fondness he reserves only for Charles and his cats (and Leo now too, though Max always tried to deny it). His grin widens, eyes crinkling in the corners. “Today was a great day, I am so proud of you, Schat.”
Charles mind is slightly blank, still caught on the expanse of skin on display for him in his living room. The excitement from his win is still there, humming beneath his skin, but it is now mixing with the desire pooling low in his belly. Here, now, basking in the sole attention of Max Verstappen, everything else felt rather small. Not minuscule or unimportant, but not the main centre of his focus anymore. Not for the moment, anyway. Still, he did just win his home GP, he should at least thank his boyfriend for his kind words.

"I'm Charles!" He yells over the music, holding out his hand for Max to shake. Max nearly melts at the sound of his perfect accent curling around the words warmly. His alcohol infused mind would probably be quite content to watch those lips form words around that accent all night long. Or perhaps even longer.
"Max!" He calls back, firmly gripping his outstretched hand and allowing him shake his arm up and down energetically. Max feel his cheeks heat up as the man looks him over, biting his bottom lip flirtatiously as he finally meets Max’s eyes again.

The fan in the bathroom whirs to life as he flicks the fluorescent lights on. He blinks rapidly as his eyes slowly adjust. He frowns down at the products littering the counter by the sink, none of which are his. He lifts his eyes to the mirror…
The sound that rips from his throat isn’t entirely human, he’s sure of it. His mouth gapes open as he lifts his hand to his cheek, watches the reflection move with him. He steps closer, sees the horror obviously pooling in his eyes, the sheet white colour of his skin.
Staring back at him, is none other than Max Verstappen.
