Heterochromatic eyes were more than a representation of two different souls in one body. They bestowed soulmates with extraordinary perception, offering them more than just sight.
When a human’s soulmate is in a life-threatening situation, they are able to switch out with their soulmate and let them take over their body, a defense mechanism of some sort to protect their soulmate from harm.
