For some reason, Ororon's fractured soul seems to be more attracted to Capitano's than any other soul. “Shit- ow, ow,” Kaveh whined pathetically as he attempted to raise his arms above his head in a simple stretch, one that only seemed to bring him more misery.
“Would you like help?” Alhaitham asked as he flipped the page. He was careful to keep his tone disinterested, lest Kaveh grow suspicious of his intentions.
“When are you ever helpful?” Kaveh grumbled in response, splaying his hands cautiously over his lower back with a hiss.
It wasn’t an agreement, but it also wasn’t a denial – just one of the many contradictions that made up Kaveh. Alhaitham closed the book whose title he'd already forgotten and set it on the coffee table as he pushed himself up to stand, satisfied enough with Kaveh's non-answer.
“I’ve been known to commit an altruistic act every now and then,” Alhaitham hummed.
Kaveh has been in pain recently, and Alhaitham has a solution in mind. His plan works as intended – Kaveh starts to trade his bad habits for healthier ones, but that’s not all that changes. Kaveh is acting friendlier, or perhaps something more than friendly. Alhaitham is skilled at weathering Kaveh’s contempt – he’s not sure he can survive Kaveh’s affection.
