“Who goes there?” The shadow called softly, like she too was startled by their appearance. A woman, Kara was sure despite the timbre of her voice, which was surprisingly husky. She spoke Greek with the precision of someone who had worked long and hard to cure their pronunciation of any inflection, but an odd lilt was still detectable. A silvery note, like windchimes clinking in a breeze.
