Arthur Kirkland is a former prince of Britain who rebelliously escaped the confines of the capital with his two younger brothers in pursuit of freedom, which he would claim by becoming a pirate. He raised Alfred and Mathew on the sea while being captain of his beloved ship named Queen Anne's Revenge.
Although there were many ups and downs in his journey as a man of the sea, it was never too much for Arthur. It was all a rather smooth process until one night, which involved an unusual amount of drinking for the Englishman, when a blonde siren invaded his night and caused quite the commotion in his life and even his heart.
OR:
Arthur tries to live peacefully as a pirate but Francis the siren completely turns his life upside down.

Summary
Being an ex-nation isn't exactly doing wonders for Gilbert's mental health. His current coping mechanisms consist of drinking too much beer and making terrible life decisions, which is how he ends up drunk on Romano's doorstep in Rome.
