Talvez por ser um ninja extremamente importante e, por conseqüência, um alvo de Nukkenins ele se afastava. Talvez por ser um Kage e não ter muito tempo livre ele se resguardava. Talvez por morar a quilômetros de distancia ele nem tentava (mesmo que um exemplo perfeito estivesse ao seu lado). Talvez por ele ser um Jinchuuriki já esperava uma visão distorcida sobre si, o que o machucava só de cogitar. Todos eram talvezes plausíveis e, talvez, houvesse um pouco deles em seu medo. Mas, como diabos poderia não sentir medo de se declarar para o homem que tentou assassinar?

Summary
Urashiki Ōtsutsuki gets hold of an artifact that allows him to travel through time, with the intention of extracting chakra from the Kyuubi during a period when Naruto couldn't control it.
Sasuke and his son Menma, try to stop him by traveling back in time with him, arriving at the Hidden Leaf Village about 18 years earlier. They find themselves having to interact with Naruto and Sasuke's group of friends from that time while trying to keep their true identities hidden. Menma learns about his parents' dark past and wants to learn even more.

Recently orphaned Sakura realizes the bridge between her teammates and captain is too strong to bear. With nothing keeping her in Konoha, she leaves them behind without looking back.
In other words, Sakura is the one to leave the village instead of Sasuke, and the rest of the world gets to deal with the aftermath.
