Summary
After it all came to an end, after John chose to do the right thing, after he hatched a plan that Barnes actually listened to, after a brief sense of camaraderie- John had some faint expectations of hope that maybe things would be okay, that he really was a good guy.
Barnes asked for his number, said he’d text, and then they parted ways.

Summary
Perhaps the greatest shame of all is that for all of Walker’s faults, Bucky’s initial distaste for him had never actually been due to anything Walker had done.
He doesn’t think that his attitude towards Walker could have changed the trajectory of things, of course. He wouldn’t have wanted it to. Sam was always going to wear the shield. It was always going to end this way.
But before the rest of the world rejected Walker as Captain America, Bucky did it first, and that is the part he’s sorry for.
In the winter of 2027, surrounded by a team that seems to be bonding and healing much more rapidly than himself, Bucky learns that in order to have someone in his life stay, he has to first stop pushing them away.

Summary
It starts with a grenade, a blackout, and a concussion.
It ends with labeled cold packs, too many protein chews, and a quiet realization that maybe—just maybe—they’re both terrible at saying how much they mean to each other.Series
