Summary
Despite what the others may have thought, George truly wasn't going to go looking for Dream. He knew better than that. But he wasn't about to spend the night listening to the residents of Kinoko Kingdom walk through what they would do if Dream attacked them.
The walk to his house was dark. Kinoko was usually so bright, but it appeared as though Sapnap thought that Dream might just believe that no one was home if the lights were doused.
George made his way upstairs and shed off his cape as soon as he entered his room, turning to hang it on the door hook.
"Eight months," came a voice from the darkest corner of the room, "and no visit."
George removed his mushroom crown and set it on the dresser before finally turning to face his past.

Summary
George took a deep breath, contemplating how much he wanted to fuck up today. Dream was definitely already mad at him. He might as well talk to someone about the clusterfuck in his head.
"We fucked."
"What?!" Sapnap shouted.
"Shut up," George hissed, whacking Sapnap's thigh. "It was like, a year ago."
"Wait, what?" Sapnap repeated, eyes growing even wider. "What the fuck do you mean you fucked? How? What? When? What? Why? I - you... a year ago?"
George thought he'd feel a lot worse about telling Sapnap. He just felt numb though. "Yep. Like, the week I moved here. Nothing has happened since besides like, a few texts and some long talks. So, I have no idea why the fuck I'm acting like this either. But I don't like him parading Megan around."

Or: Dream starts dating again and George realizes he's not over the fling they had. Can they repair their relationship or did they ruin it forever?

"Just fucking kiss me if you're gonna do it," George huffed, immediately cut off by Dream's lips.
Dream didn't know what he was expecting. Contrary to popular belief, he actually didn't think about kissing his best friend that much. Obviously, the thought would cross his mind when he saw fanart or people made jokes about it, but it wasn't like he fantasized about it. So, he had no clue what he thought kissing George would be like.
It seemed like George wanted Dream to suddenly admit his love following the kiss, like this was a game he could win, but unluckily for him, Dream was competitive. Vaguely, somewhere in the back of Dream's mind, he realized that they'd been kissing for a few minutes at that point. If they were going to stop and laugh it off, it'd have to happen soon. George seemed to have a similar revelation, pulling back just an inch to let them breathe. They'd either separate completely and act like this was all a funny bit, or they'd confess some level of attraction and keep going. Dream closed the gap again.

Or; To prove they aren't in love, Dream and George try kissing and accidentally just don't stop until they hook up.

Dream discards his headphones and sits next to George. "You can talk to me about anything."
George glances at Dream's comforting smile, resisting the urge to throw up at the sight of it. He takes a deep breath. "I think - ugh - I think I'm... never mind."
"Absolutely not," Dream says. "What were you about to say?"
"I'm," George takes a deep breath, "lonely?"
The corners of Dream's lips turn down and his eyes crinkle in concern. "Lonely? Like, in America?"
"No. No, like, in... my bed," George rushes the last part.

"Dream, why aren't you talking?" George whines.
Dream bites his lip and lets his head fall back against his pillow, trying to ignore the hardness that's been forming in his boxers. He wants to stay on call with George, but he doesn't know how much longer he can before it's downright obscene.
"I'm tired," Dream says, his voice far too gravely, too raw. He should hang up.

BUT despite that description, this isn't straight smut so don't get disappointed when it's a little bit of a slow burn situation that is dialogue heavy lol (not too slow burn but a bit)

“What if it happens again?”
Now it's Dreams turn to stare, mink blanking.
He has a point, but Dream can't seem to make sense of it, what kind of answer he's looking for, or what answer to give other than 'so be it.' “Then we have fun with it and move on again. If we both, like, want it, then I don't see why—I mean, what's so wrong with that?”
“'If we both want it,'” George echoes slowly and Dream desperately wishes he knew how to shut the hell up sometimes. “Do you...? Want that?”
He's fairly certain his heart skips a beat or two.

or: Dream and George come up with a plan to convince Sapnap dnf is real, but their prank turns on them when they take it one step too far.

Almost a year had passed since the call, as George had titled it in his head to avoid acknowledging everything else that it was—so much more than a call. Almost a year since George had confessed to things he’d expected to take to his grave, and almost a year since the two of them had wordlessly moved on like nothing had happened at all. In that time, they’d never spoken about it, which, to be fair, wasn’t unusual. They had also never repeated it.
In over nine months, Dream had woken George with a phone call only twice, and both had been while he was still in London. One was because of a nightmare, and the other was because he was bored and George had been asleep for over twelve hours. Since the call, Dream had not requested any further physiological ‘help’ from George.
