Royal/Soulmate AU
He’s about to turn around when he feels something cold against his back. Kel freezes when a small voice speaks, “Turn around,” Though quiet, there’s something dangerous about it that makes him obey. A black cloaked figure shifts now what he can make out to be a knife against his neck. He swallows thickly, “Say goodby--” The figure looks up at him and they lock eyes.
Instantly the shades of sunlight turned orange and gold from their muted grays, blinding Kel with a splitting headache. He stumbles backwards, as does his assailant who drops his knife with a clatter, “What the--” He’s confused by what he’s seeing. The sky… it was on fire. And the man in front of him. No longer was his cloak a dark black, but a brilliant shade of red that he had only read in storybooks. But one thing remained the same: the color of his assailants eyes that stared at him wide.
"Shit--” The man whips around to run but Kel catches him by the wrist.
“Wait!” Kel cries out, “What’s your name?”
