Summary
What binds Nikolai and Zoya is pain, loss, and loneliness. But when they return from the Fold as changed people and make a pact to help each other navigate these new paths, what binds them becomes complicity, trust, and the certainty of the other’s presence. The feelings that grow between them threaten the future of the country, yet spending so much time together makes it inevitable.

Summary

Summary
Zoya recognized him the moment she saw him.
She had never laid eyes on him before, and yet she knew, the instant he stood before her, that he was the second Lantsov son. He carried himself like a prince and seemed to radiate a golden light that filled the entire room. For a brief, treacherous moment, Zoya’s heart skipped a beat. He was handsome, charming, and clever—and had wrapped himself in the guise of a hero. "But he will be no different from his father or his brother; he’s a Lantsov, after all," Zoya thought.
That's how I imagine the first interactions between Zoya and Nikolai, just after Ruin and raising.

Summary

He knows how her skin feels, under his fingers. Or rather he is nearly certain he knows how her skin feels, and the ‘nearly’ of it is driving him to a precarious tap dance on the frayed edge of his sanity.
aka nikolai and zoya come back from the fold and are just as haunted by every what if and should have been as the rest of us and this time they actually DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT

Summary
He visits her room again. Zoya thinks at first that she is imagining the creak of the floorboards in the hall, that she has conjured him to break this deadly silence. She can't bear it alone anymore, it presses against her throat and seeps into her chest. She needs something, anything, to shatter it.
But when she invites him in, he enters and there is suddenly no doubt that he is real. Nikolai smiles, both an apology and a question.
Zoya nods and takes her first real breath of the day.
or, after the Fold, it becomes impossible to sleep alone.

Summary
From the moment his cries pierced the air, Nikolai Lantsov was a force of nature.
He would grow to be a prince, a king, and a demon, all in due turn. He would love and lose and love again, his nation, his friends, his body and his mind. He would wear his duty with grace and serve his first love, Ravka, with a smile.
But first he was small, boyish, a child clearly out of place in his surroundings. He knew not what it was to bear the weight of a crown on his brow. He could not understand that no great love waited for him, at least not within his marriage.
He would grow to learn these things, for Nikolai Lantsov was a boy with a future.
(Or: Nikolai Lantsov will not marry for love. That doesn't mean he won't try.)

Summary
How I'm sure Nikolai and Zoya story ends (or starts) right after Rule of Wolves. Don't read it if you haven't finished the book. It tells a little of how Nikolai courted Zoya, how he finally ends up asking for her hand in marriage, gifting her a home, love and a future to look forward to.
"What he was telling her now, it had an echo to so many other things he had told her in the past, scattered throughout the moments they had shared. It told the story of how they took care for each other of so long, of their longing, of their strength. How they had found each other at last."
