    The crew of USS Asclepius, the station orbiting an F-type main-sequence star known as Procyon A, consists of captain Patton Heart, medical and science officer Logan Crofter, communications officer Virgil Arcus and engineering officer Roman Knight. They are accompanied on their adventure by the station's mother program with the serial number P1C4N1-C4R700N, or Emile, as he likes to be called by his friends. And who knows, maybe they will be joined by someone else as the story goes on...
    There's no particular order to these yet, but there might be one day, who knows.

    Names are important. Names have power, though what kind of power depends on the kind of name. This much, he knows.

    Real Names are the Name your parents give you, the first Name you knew meant you. They’re tied to you before you know how to say them, so much part of you they must be treated with care, kept secret from all but your closest loved ones, for any who know them can exert their power on you for their own ends.

    Then there’s the name you choose, the Safety Name, your public name, closer to a mask than a name. It’s attached to the you shown to the world, it functions like a shield, a wall between yourself and any who might attempt to magically influence you.

    He thinks he remembers there being more kinds of names than that, but he can’t remember what they are. He just knows— he thinks that they exist.

    He knows all of this. What he doesn’t know are his own names. Not anymore.

    Not after It found him, and changed him somehow. Everything before It is blurry and indistinct, save for that he knows he wasn't always like this, and that It is why he is.

    No, the only Name he knows himself by is the one It gave him, after finding amusement in his well-founded terror of It: Anxiety.

    Summary

    Harveste began like this - another inconspicuous day in a slew of boring days, starting off with a perfunctory visit to the market, messing about with what could possibly be a very silly idea, and ending in a sense of accomplishment and the first installment. The day after that, buoyed into hitherto unfamiliar levels of ecstasy by readers’ comments (seriously, thank you so much to my first readers), the second installment. And then it just snowballed from there: the researching, the planning, watching and searching out all the little macabre details in a feverish giddy rush.

    My absolute favorite project, hands down, and the one I’ve had the most progress with. I’m quite proud that this is the first contribution I’ll be making to AO3, and I’m certain it won’t be the last. I hope this inspires me to continue and finish what I’ve started, because dear Harveste deserves that.
