Summary
“Revolution waits for no man. Humans often bloom from the violence of their ancestors as it passes down through the bloodstream," Hannibal agreed. He was far within Will’s personal space now, as he often was. “I’ve always wondered where one can truly draw the line between revolutionary justice and the beginnings of a war. Tell me Will, where does one make the distinction between freedom and death, if one can make it at all?”
“The lines that we draw are as trivial as we are trivial. Everything morality is based off of is just construct after construct we created culturally throughout the millennia. We justify the things we agree with to make ourselves feel better about agreeing with what we see is right and wrong.”

Summary
The winters in Lithuania were cold. Buildings were covered in the pure white sheddings of Mother Nature’s coat, thick layers to the feet and knees of the people. There was more this year than he’d ever seen. He remembered tales that his mother told him of mythological tales—how Demeter mourned her daughter so harshly the plants shriveled from her raged sorrow. Hannibal wondered if Nature or Demeter were bitter of the invasions in their lands, whether the snow was a biting cold meant to send the Germans back out to their own land and away from his home.
He knew it wouldn’t work.

Summary
There was something at the end of a bottle that Will couldn’t quite ever place. He’d tried to mellow it out over the months and the years that he’d relied on the bottle, thought it through and turned it in every direction, but to no avail. It sat at the tip of his tongue and the top of his mouth. There was a metallic scent to it that bled through his nose and into the holes at the roof of his mouth, a viscosity that ran down his throat and settled something else in his stomach. He liked to call this thing craving.

Summary
“You think this was a copycat?”
And wasn’t it obvious? Cassie Boyle had been strung on the deer antlers just how other victims might’ve been. A similar profile, sure, and cannibalism was no doubt present. But there was nothing here that said it was their first killer.
