Summary
Tobirama didn’t like being hurt. There was nobody he knew about who actively liked to get hurt. Sure, accidents happen, but if there was another option, they would take it. It never hurt to be the strongest sensor alive in accomplishing avoiding unnecessary pain, even while on missions.
But there was one thing, well several people more accurately, that made him unable to go without pain for long times. Not like he wanted to be hurt, far from it, but he couldn’t watch people precious to him get hurt. Better him than them. If he is the one, then the others can be spared. And they deserved a painless life. So, in the end, while he didn’t like being hurt, he would throw himself into the claws aimed at others without complaining.
